Good morning, everyone!!!
Our writing chapter is gearing up for our retreat weekend. I cannot be more excited about this. We’ve rented a nice little farm house that has been turned into a bed and breakfast.
When I first joined a writing chapter I never really went to the retreats. Mainly because my kids were younger and at home and with a truck driver for a husband it was hard to plan weekends in advance.
Then the kids got older, two of them out on their own with children of their own, and basically all of them working and living their own lives. So hubby’s driving schedule wasn’t an issue any longer and I decided to give this retreat thing a go.
Since my very first one I’ve enjoyed them and found them to be a positive writing tool. There is nothing better than being away with a group of writers for an entire weekend, for a writer. It reenergizes the writing brain and you walk away with a renewed sense of desire for writing.
This is the first official weekend writing retreat for our new chapter. We wanted a place where we could socialize together and just enjoy the weekend. When we walked into Crop A Doodle Do, we instantly felt that connection of retreat location and writer.
The closer this gets the more excited I am getting about the getaway J I really need this break from life and recharge. The perfect way to leave behind the real world for a few days and also the ideal additive to this lifestyle change up for me. It will help me to continue to turn things around and keep a forward motion going. Something I sorely need to help keep me focused on the future.
I’ve been reminded this is my year to really break out and that needs to be my main focus. I’ve managed to see things clearly for the first time in a long time. I will be, in the very near future, working on audio books for my already released books. I am also in the learning process of releasing some of my first self-published books. The first being an anthology that will hopefully release in June this year.
The Hope Chest is an anthology I’m really excited about. We’ve worked really hard since December of last year to write stories with the common bond of Hope Chest. Some stories have the normal definition of hope chest, others have a different twist on this. None of the stories are solely about a hope chest, but all are romances for sure J
I’m very privileged to know and work with so many amazing authors. We’ve brought into this project all we’ve learned from various editors, publishers, and experiences to create what I hope all of you will love and enjoy during your summer reading. Every storyline is unique and holds their very own distinctive writing style.
Well I better get ready to head out and start this day. Lots to do today and only one day off left to get it all done J
Everyone have a lovely day!!!
Blessings to all!!!
