Good morning, everyone!!!
This morning my granddaughter, Garden Weed, the older of the girls in the pics, really started my day off on a good note.
See for Christmas this year grandpa got Bug, the only boy pictured here, a geo for his stocking. This little man enjoys nature, rocks, shells, anything he can find outdoors. So hubby thought he would really enjoy breaking open his very own geo and finding the crystal inside.
Well, since Bug got a rock, I had to do something special for the girls, so I ordered them birthstone necklaces from Avon as their special gift this year. When the packages arrived just days before Christmas there was a slight mishap. Lil Miss and Lil One's came just right, but Garden Weed's was the wrong month. So I had to return it and yesterday the right month came.
It couldn't have been more perfect. When she awoke to get ready for school this morning I informed her that her necklace had arrived. Her little face lit up as she held the shiny necklace in her hands. She begged to wear it to school which of course I obliged her and put it around her neck.
"Grandma, I'm never taking this off. What should I name her?"
I smiled with her excitement. "Whatever you like."
"I think I'll call her Ali, because Ali is an angel."
I assured her that would be fine. Then suddenly she changed her mind. "Maybe I should name her after one of our dogs that have become an angel. Grandma, what girl dog has become an angel?"
"Well, Shotzie is an angel now. And her name means Sweetheart in German."
Her little blue eyes lit up as she touched the angel around her neck. "I think I will call her Shotzie, then she can have two names, Shotzie and Sweetheart."
Children have the best ways of making a day start off on the right foot. I never imagined when I ordered that necklace that this would be the reaction I received from such a simple gift.
Everyone have a lovely day!!!
Blessings to all!!!
