The last two years we’ve enjoyed the solitude of Summit Lake http://summitlake.net/ a nice little getaway for just hubby, the dogs, and I, or a great place for the family to go as a group. This summer we’re planning a family trip to our favorite little getaway. A week of fishing, bonfires, smores… you get the picture J
I’ve been a country girl at heart I guess you could say my whole life. So camping is just the perfect vacation for me. Now mind you, these days I still take my luxuries with me, such as my laptop, cell phone, and yes, internet hotspot. I mainly use the laptop though, because it is the perfect time to relax and just let the writing flow.
Hubby enjoys fishing. So we take along his boat and his fishing gear and he spends his day running around the lake, fishing, and enjoying the quiet of his own special spot in the world.
We take along our big overgrown baby, Shadow, (this year we’ll be taking along our newest baby, Shadow’s brother, Bear) who lounges around the campsite with me as I work on my latest WIP.
We enjoy several long walks throughout the day and a nice evening/nighttime walk each day. Then nights around a bonfire, where hubby usually has a line in the water for some night fishing and I enjoy a good book or a few more minutes of writing.
Last year we grabbed up a camper, that we’ve spent time doing a bit of work on. It allows us a few more luxuries of home, like bathroom at our campsite J fridge, stove, and our own little vacation home on wheels.
So there you have my ideal vacation, let me hear about your favorite place to go.
