Welcome back to Romance Writers Weekly presents!!! Just a reminder the blog hop doesn't officially begin until 2 p.m. EST. but you know sometimes the day job gets busy and I can't post during that time frame :)
This week Leslie Hachtel wants us to tell you about our New Year's Resolutions. This should definitely be fun. Don't forget if you're here early to come back and click Jenna's link below at 2 p.m. You don't want to miss how a writer brain makes New Year's Resolutions for sure :)

I start every year off determined to make changes. I also start off every year with high hopes of this year being better than the year before.
I used to make lists (surprise surprise) on all I want to accomplish in the year ahead. I've even made vision boards to help the process along. Neither of which have worked out so well for me in the past.
So a few years ago I decided to quit making resolutions just set some doable goals and start working toward them. Sometimes I think my brain hears the word 'resolution' and the goals become too unrealistic and of course things don't work out so well in the end.
This year I've incorporated (Okay, so we've done it once so far, but the plan is in place for more often, LOL) the help of my writer pals and we've come up with a writing plan for the up and coming year.
Last night we did our version of a write-in. We met up in one of our secret facebook groups at the designated time. We chimed in to let each other know we were there. Then we wrote for one hour and checked in with each other at the end of that hour.
It not only helped me keep with my writing goals, it also allowed me to help other authors keep theirs.
This business is a pretty lonely business. You sit in a room, document open, hands on keyboard, and write. Of course your characters make you feel like there's a room full of people, but in reality you are alone. So working together with common goals, even if it is online, is helpful.
So I guess you could say my New Year's Resolution is to be more writing productive this year. More like I used to be back in the day :)
